How It Works
We assess your vehicle's current hardware modifications, then build a custom ECU map optimised for your exact setup. Unlike generic Stage 2 maps, ours are tailored to your specific combination of parts. We can also advise on which hardware upgrades will give you the best gains for your budget.

What Hardware Do You Need For a Stage 2 Remap?
Stage 2 isn't a standalone job — it's a software map written around supporting hardware modifications. The minimum requirements are usually a sports or decat downpipe (to free up exhaust flow), a high-flow induction kit or panel filter, and ideally an upgraded intercooler on heavily-boosted cars.
On a turbo diesel, that combination lets us safely raise boost pressure and adjust fuel delivery beyond the Stage 1 limits — typically delivering an extra 15-25 BHP and 40-80 Nm on top of Stage 1 gains. On a petrol turbo, the gains can be even bigger because the supporting hardware allows the turbo to work in a more efficient part of its map.

Stage 2 vs Stage 1 — Real-World Differences
On a Golf GTD with a Stage 1 map, you're looking at around 235 BHP. Add a downpipe and intake plus a Stage 2 map and you're at 250-260 BHP with significantly more torque from low RPM. On a BMW M140i, Stage 1 gets you to ~410 BHP. Stage 2 with a downpipe reaches 440-450 BHP and the throttle response sharpens noticeably.
Stage 2 is the right choice if you want the maximum reliable performance from your stock engine, you do the occasional trackday, or you tow heavy loads regularly. For pure road driving, Stage 1 is usually enough — we'll always give you an honest recommendation.

Custom Map vs Off-The-Shelf Stage 2 Files
Many tuners load a generic 'Stage 2' file regardless of what hardware is fitted. This works after a fashion but rarely produces the best gains and sometimes causes flat spots, surging or hot-running.
Every Stage 2 map we write is built around your specific hardware combination — the brand and size of downpipe, the intercooler core, the intake. The result is a smoother, more refined map that delivers cleaner power and runs cooler than off-the-shelf files.
Can a Stage 2 Map Be Reverted For Sale?
Yes. We always take a full backup of your factory ECU before tuning. If you ever need to return the car to standard — for sale, warranty work or any other reason — we can restore the original map in under an hour.
