1. VW Golf GTI/GTD (Mk7/Mk8) — The Golf platform is an absolute remap dream. The 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TSI engines respond brilliantly, with Stage 1 gains of 40-60 BHP easily achievable. The EA888 petrol and EA288 diesel engines are incredibly well-engineered and have massive headroom in the ECU.
2. BMW 320d/330d (F30/G20) — BMW's N47 and B47 diesel engines are hugely popular for remapping. Expect 30-50 BHP gains from Stage 1 on the 320d, and the 330d/335d is even more impressive with gains of 40-60 BHP available.
3. Audi A3/A4/A5 2.0 TDI — Sharing the VW Group EA288 diesel engine, these Audis respond identically well to remapping. The quattro versions are particularly fun with the extra torque.
4. Ford Focus ST/RS — The EcoBoost engines in the Focus ST (2.0 and 2.3) are excellent remap candidates. Stage 1 gains of 30-50 BHP are typical, and the RS responds even better.
5. Mercedes C220d/C250d — Mercedes' OM651 and OM654 diesel engines deliver strong gains from a Stage 1 remap. Expect 30-40 BHP and a significant improvement in mid-range torque.
6. Seat Leon Cupra — Using the same EA888 TSI engine as the Golf GTI/R, the Cupra responds brilliantly to remapping. Stage 1 gains of 40-60 BHP are common.
7. Skoda Octavia vRS — Another VW Group gem. The vRS in both diesel and petrol form is one of the best value performance cars to remap, with gains matching the Golf GTI at a lower price point.
8. Ford Transit Custom 2.0 EcoBlue — Not a car, but our most popular commercial vehicle remap. The Transit Custom gains 30-40 BHP from a Stage 1 tune, making a massive difference when loaded up.
9. Range Rover/Discovery TDV6/SDV6 — Land Rover's 3.0 diesel engine has enormous remap potential. Stage 1 gains of 40-60 BHP transform these heavy vehicles, especially for towing.
10. Vauxhall Astra/Insignia CDTi — Often overlooked, but the 2.0 CDTi engine responds very well to remapping with gains of 25-40 BHP and noticeably better fuel economy.
